New Information Regarding Trash and Recycling:

Effective 11/1/2024

**The town encourages you to separate metals and loose paper, it is not required. However, if you do separate these materials there is a separate location for disposing these items in the recycle center. The town receives income for separating the items from the single-stream dumpsters. See the attendant for more information.

** Please ensure that you are NOT placing recyclable material in the trash. For additional information please see the link below:

https://www.pellitteri.com/pages/commercial-recycling-info

** Off hours disposal is allowed ONLY by contacting the Town Clerk to make AN APPOINTMENT. 24 hours in advance. NO WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYS.

** Large loads of waste & recycling is only permitted on Saturdays during Trash hours.

** REMOVE ALL BATTERIES from household items. Lithium batteries are NOT accepted at the waste site. Lithium Batteries, when thrown in the trash or recycle dumpsters cause fires at waste sites and landfills. https://www.pellitteri.com/blogs/blog/safely-managing-the-disposal-of-lithium-batteries-a-call-for-public-awareness-and-policy-action

** Please place all CARDBOARD in the Recycle Building, not the trash or recycle dumpster.

** Please place all paper in the gaylord in the Recycle Building. Though not required, we ask that residents help the town offset the costs of recycling and trash by placing paper items (office paper, food boxes, magazines, newspapers, etc.) in a separate location when coming to the waste site. The town is compensated for recycling the paper goods which helps to offset the cost of waste and recycling disposal.

** Metal items - please separate all metal items from your trash. There is a gaylord, in the recycle building, for metal items. Metal is recyclable and by separating metal out of the recycle dumpster and trash, residents help the town offset the costs of waste management.

** Residents are asked to sign in when bringing items to the Recycle/Trash site.

** Dumpsters are under video surveillance 24 hours.

Electronics- IT IS MANDATORY TO RECYCLE ELECTRONICS

ECycle (Electronics, computers, etc). Please refer to the recycle guide.

Contact Kathy Wegner-Clerk, to make AN APPOINTMENT for after-hours disposal at 920-261-1611 (no weekends or holidays).
