Controlled Burns

Controlled burns are allowed in the Town of Emmet.  Proper notification is required, however, prior to the event.

Contact a town official (board member) AND the Dodge County Sheriff Dept (non emergency #) with your name, address and your intention to have a controlled burn. Inform the Sheriff Dept. that they should not respond to a fire at your premises UNLESS they are notified by you. Dodge County Sheriff Department requires notification(see below).

As a reminder, for any reason, if the fire department is called to your property for fire services/protection , it is considered a "Chargeable Fire" event and the property owner will be billed.

Burning of  plastic, rubber, asphalt, oily substances, construction debris, or any materials that will create dense, black smoke, or are combustible wastes, mattresses, tires, etc. is prohibited. Solid Waste methods for these items must be made the property owner.

Recreational fires for cooking and recreation are permitted but should not consist of plastic, rubber, asphalt, oily substances or any materials that create dense, black smoke.
