Building Permits
Building permits are required for all new construction or remodeling projects. A permit is required for: decks, pools, garages or outbuildings, and all heating, air conditioning or plumbing projects. If you are wondering if you need a permit it is your responsibility to contact Mike Sindorf and inquire.
Mike Sindorf, Building Inspector, issues the required permits. Penalties may be assessed for failure to obtain a proper permit before beginning work.

If you are in need of a Special Assessment Letter please send your request, along with payment for the fee of $15 to: Town of Emmet - W6777 Second Street Road, Watertown WI, 53098. Turnaround time is approximately 2 business days. Fees are subject to change without notice..

Driveway/Culvert Permits
A driveway permit for residents who live on a TOWN Road can be obtained by clicking on the link on this page in the Downloads section, OR in person at the office during clerk hours by contacting the Town Clerk at 920-285-3459, OR by email at tclerk@emmettownship.com . Please complete the form and return it to us in person, by mail or email.
The application fee is $75. Upon completion of the permit application, the proposed driveway plan will be reviewed with you during a "site visit" from Chairman Faltersack to review the site plan and any additional needs, e.g. culvert, layout, etc. before issuing a permit. For residents who live on a County Highway - Driveway permits are applied for through Dodge County. See the link at the top of this page.
