Public Safety
Safety for your pet - a licensed dog is easier to be reunited with its owner if found in the township.
Dogs-at-large, when found, and no owner can be located at the time of the call, will be picked up by the Dodge Cty. Humane Society for the safety of the dog and the finder.
The Township DOES NOT hold any dogs when they are found.
The owner will be billed from the township for the cost of the transport by DCHS (Emmet Dog Control & Licensing Ordinance) for after-hours calls conducted by DCHS.
The owner may incur additional costs as a result of the dog-at-large event.
Licensing (required) and Microchipping your dog are proactive measures you can take to ensure the safety of your pet. Annually, the tax payer letter to residents is sent in December to all residents with the tax bill. It includes information about licensing requirements and kennel requirements.
Do you own more than 3 dogs? Planning on breeding your dog? You may be required to have a Kennel Permit. See the MORE tab for additional information.
